Wisdom tooth, as believed is a symbol of physical maturity. And so often checked to know if someone is a minor or can be considered as an adult.  However, what we know is — this wisdom tooth grows painfully in the age of early 20’s and nothing more. Change that idea now, as research shows that the pearl at back of our set, holds a beneficial tissue that could lead to successful stem cell therapy.

A medical fact, published on Journal of Biological Chemistry — stated that wisdom teeth can regrow needed tissue and organs that promote healing. The extracted adult cells, can be reprogrammed to develop fresh ones that is known Induced-pluripotent Stem Cells (IPS).

In fact, extracting IPS from valuable sources is not that easy. Yet researchers from Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science discovered that the wisdom teeth has “viable starter cells.”

Hajime Ohgushi and his team generate IPS from wisdom teeth from three donors. Stem cells from this pearl is actually 100x more helpful than those extracted from skin and can form different cell lines.

Aside from that, wisdoms could be put to freezer for several years and use for future treatment.
